This is something you should only do with a small portion of your capital, but even a small investment in these lucrative deals can generate an enormous return.
I want to make it very clear that we take absolutely no commissions, kickbacks or anything of the sort.
It’s a huge part of my personal moral code, and I just think it’s the right way to do it.

It brings low-cost, non-branded products, mostly from China, to a potential market of over 500 million customers.
The company is headquartered in Switzerland but has launched its platform in five countries, starting in Uzbekistan, with plans to expand aggressively into neighboring markets rapidly and establish itself as a leader in the region.
The team behind the company is one of the reasons we’re making this investment.
In fact, it’s one of the most experienced we’ve come across in the SMPI portfolio. The founder is a serial entrepreneur who’s successfully exited several businesses.
They have made smart hires across the board, with experience including similar platforms in other regions (e.g. Lazada) and ex-venture capitalists with successful exits in the industry.
The management also built the company from the beginning with an exit in mind (just like the management of the private deal that recently went public and made our members over $100 million in total gains).
That’s because large tech giants, like Amazon or Alibaba, have a habit of buying up regional players rather than building them from scratch. And the company is positioning itself to be a perfect acquisition target within the next five years.

To be clear, this is not a company that is going to generate a lot of cash flow for investors, if any, over the next few years.
Instead, it is going to use outside investment to grow and expand as quickly as it can.
This is definitely a speculative investment and you should proceed accordingly. But if the company gets it right, it is not unrealistic for us to exit our position for over 100x what we paid for it.
